Tettenham College has a long and proud history of welcoming students from all over the world. International students make up a small minority of the student body studying at Tettenham College, but they contribute to making the College an inclusive, diverse and cosmopolitan place to study.
We understand that choosing a school when you’re overseas can be challenging in itself, which is why we work hard to ensure that overseas students and parents have all the information you need to help them make the right decision.
We are delighted to welcome visits from our international families, but we realise that this is not always an option. We are therefore happy to host a visit from a friend or relative who may live in the UK, or the Headmaster and his team travel to a different country each year and are delighted to meet students and their families on these trips.
We can also speak directly to families via video call and answer any questions they may have. We also welcome children who may want to join us for a short period to improve their English and gain life experience. We have found that taking a year out of their own education system to spend at Tettenhall College is very popular with European children, as it is very beneficial for university applications.
Choosing to study in the UK can be daunting, especially when you’re so far away, but we offer support and advice to make the process as easy as possible.
Admission requirements
Children who wish to apply for a place at Tettenhall College can contact us directly or through an education agent in their country with whom we have an agreement.
We need to assess a person’s ability to study the Tettenhall Academy curriculum, so we ask students to complete maths and English assessments; these give us a clearer indication of whether a child can cope with the work required of them. We also require a written application essay explaining why they want to study at Tettenhall Academy. We also ask for copies of school reports and arrange a video interview with the principal.
